52 winners have been announced as a result of the seventh wave of grant applications for veterans in 2024. They will receive 26 million hryvnias to start or develop their businesses. Overall, since the start of the veterans' component of the "Own Business" grant program, 552 veterans and family members of combatants have become winners, with the state investing 246 million hryvnias in their businesses through grants. This was reported by Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Tetiana Berezhna.

"52 veterans and their spouses have been recognized as winners in the seventh wave of the 'Own Business' program this year. The state is investing 26 million hryvnias in starting up or scaling their businesses through grants. Overall, since the start of this program direction, 552 veterans and their family members have received a positive decision on granting a grant for a total amount of 246 million hryvnias. Grants of up to 500,000 hryvnias are the most in demand - over 60% of winners requested this amount of support from the state for the development of their businesses," Tetiana Berezhna noted.

Among the 52 winners of the seventh wave of grant applications, there are 27 combatants and 25 family members of veterans. 46 winners received a grant of up to 500,000 hryvnias, 4 - up to 250,000 hryvnias, 2 - up to 1 million hryvnias.

The largest number of grant recipients come from the Zhytomyr, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Kyiv regions, and Kyiv city. The most popular spheres in which grant recipients plan to develop their businesses are wholesale and retail trade, temporary accommodation and catering, and processing industry.

According to the program's conditions, combatants or persons with disabilities as a result of war, as well as the second spouse, can receive such grants:

up to 250,000 hryvnias, up to 500,000 hryvnias, and up to 1 million hryvnias - for a veteran provided one, two, and four jobs are created, respectively;

up to 250,000 hryvnias and up to 500,000 hryvnias - for the second spouse of a veteran provided one and two jobs are created, respectively.

When receiving a grant from 500,000 to 1 million hryvnias, a veteran must be registered as an individual entrepreneur for at least 3 years. In addition, such a grant is provided on the condition of co-financing by the recipient in a 70/30 ratio, meaning the grant recipient must invest 30% of their own funds into their business, while the state will provide 70% of the funds in the form of a grant.

Applications for grants are submitted through the Diia portal along with a business plan.

It is worth noting that the government project eRobota includes grant programs aimed at stimulating entrepreneurial activity and creating jobs. These include microgrants for opening or developing one's own business, grants for veterans and their spouses, grants for the creation and development of processing enterprises, orchards and vineyards, and greenhouse farming. Both existing entrepreneurs and people with no business experience can apply for a grant. Currently, applications are being accepted for all directions of the eRobota program.
